This Little Light of Mine

This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine!

Hide it under a bushel - NO!
I'm gonna let it shine.
Hide it under a bushel - NO!
I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine!

Won't let Satan *blow* it out
I'm gonna let it shine.
Won't let Satan *blow* it out
I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine!

Let it shine till Jesus comes
I'm gonna let it shine.
Let it shine till Jesus comes
I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine!

Tonight I was reminded of the message of this simple "kiddie" song while admiring one of the candles flickering in my room. This is our closing song EVERY Sunday in Sunday school with the 2-5 year olds. Sometimes, you can just get caught up with the hand motions (letting your pointer finger swirl around in the air) and forget what the words of the song really mean.

May I never be ashamed to let my "light" shine for the Lord in this dark and sinful world!
