TTFN

If you don't speak Tigger lingo, that stands for "Ta-Ta for Now". :-)

I haven't been doing very well in the blogging department lately. Instead of feeling guilty over my lack of blogging, I thought I would just solve the problem by saying, "Goodbye for now" to the blogging world. I started this blog in 2008 mostly because everyone else was doing it. It was *the thing* to do! I soon became addicted to the idea of finding things to blog about. I would take pictures or do things just so I could blog about it! Of course, it was a great way for me to keep track of my Kindergarten activities as well, and I know a lot of the parents enjoyed seeing what their children were doing in school.

It was fun while it lasted, but for now I am going to be putting my blog "on the shelf". It doesn't mean that one day I won't dust it off and start blogging again - if new, exciting, thrilling, adventurous, blog-worthy things start happening in my life, I might just pick it up again.

Thank you to all my blog readers who have faithfully followed me throughout these past few years. If I have disappointed anyone with this decision because you really enjoy finding out about my life, well, that's just too bad. You can always just come up in church and ask me, "What's up?" or ask me on Facebook if you don't go to my church. If you live far away in Tim-Buck-Too and don't know me personally....well, then...I don't know what to tell you...Find other people to "stalk" online, I guess. :-)

2 Years Today

Wishing he was still here...

but knowing he is much happier where he is!

On Sunday when we visited Pop-Pop's grave, we put an Air Force flag and an American flag with a Korean War stand next to it to honor his memory and to remember his service to our country.

It is such a comfort knowing that although Pop-Pop's earthly body may be buried there, his spirit is up in Heaven, rejoicing and praising the Lord!

3/11

Every Monday and Friday I get to spend some time reading with 3/11 of my Kindergarten "alumni." We read stories in Bible and Animal Science. Recently, we have started working on the "dreaded" Math flashcards. Subtraction can get a little tough! :-)

Because of the way our school curriculum is set up, each child works at their own pace. It is only the 3rd quarter and all 3 of them are almost in 2nd grade work already!

What a goofy, fun, smart lil' threesome! I am glad I get to spend this extra time with them each week. Because I miss teaching so much, it gives me a measure of "teacher satisfaction"!

Mrs. Lytle took a picture of us today, and I just had to share it!

Mom's Birthday

Yes, I am really slacking in the blogging world, but I wanted to post a few pictures from my Mom's birthday last weekend (After all, she's worth blogging about, right?!! :D)

For her birthday supper, we took her to Carrabba's - an Italian restaurant that has amazing food!

(yes, I purposely said GIRL just for you, Mom :-))

My "adopted" lil' sis Susannah and I

Thanks to Susannah, who had a camera along, and a nice lady at a nearby table, we had a group shot taken of all of us while we were at Carrabba's. (Of course, we all saw white dots for the remainder of our time there because of the bright flash in a dark restaurant!)

Later on, we had birthday cake and Mom opened her presents. Thanks to Pinterest, I discovered how to make marshmallow fondant for Mom's cake. It actually turned out quite nicely for the first time trying it out. Click here for the recipe!
