A Quiet Activity Creation

In the morning after the children finish their seatwork papers, I allow them to get out a quiet activity to play with. One of the best things I like about my classroom is that the large chalkboard in the front of the room is actually magnetic. That definitely comes in handy when I want to hang up charts!

Well, anyway, the quiet activity of their choice today were the magnetic pattern blocks.

Note the before and after pictures...

Within a few minutes, they were all transferred and tranformed into this amazing and unique creation on the chalkboard (which btw, I wasn't allowed to see until they were all finished :)).

They were sure proud of it!
