Today we went with the rest of the Elementary students to the Hay Creek Festival. There was so much to see and do while we were there!
To name a few things we saw:
* how they made brooms and wooden toys
* a blacksmith
* a BIG furnace
* an old-fashioned store & post office
* how to wash clothes the "old-fashioned" way
* a machine churning butter
* another machine sawing & chopping wood
* antique cars
* how to make candles
* bees busy in their hive
* a lady spinning wool into yarn
* a man using a BIG saw to split lumber
* a potter forming a clay pot
* musical instruments (and even Cally and Hope got to play a few!)
* a juggling act
It was quite the day! If you want to see more pictures, go to my Facebook page here.
On the bus, heading to the Hay Creek Festival!! |
My girlies were *slowly* learning the importance of staying together in a line when we moved from station to station...it was quite the process! :-) |
Sitting on hay bales, watching a juggling act. |
Watching a machine chop wood...it was noisy!! |
After the girls used an old-fashioned machine to do laundry, they eat got a sticker to prove they learned how! |
This was the antique car the girls wanted to pose in front of! |
Watching the man make a clay pot! |
Looking at the bees in their hive |
Watching the lady spin wool into yarn |
Watching the man use a BIG saw to split the lumber |
My goofy, exhausted girls after a fun day at the festival |
