Fall Leaf Painting
Today we started getting the Kindergarten classroom decorated for fall! This was our first painting activity of the school year, and we were all quite excited about it!

Water Beads
A friend gave me a bag of water beads last week, and I was so excited because I love doing tactile projects with my kiddos! I knew feeling the texture of these beads would be so much fun for them (and me!), and I was right.
These beads started off super tiny and hard. We put them in water for about 6-8 hours and they grew into these soft, squishy, cool, slimy balls of fun! My kiddos LOVE them. They love scooping them up, dumping them and just feeling them between their fingers.
Today I had to keep kicking some of the older elementary students out of the classroom because these water beads are just too tempting for all ages! They are available here on Amazon if any of you want to check them out. They are referred to as "stress balls" because just feeling their texture can probably relax a person for a bit (unless you are super sensitive to certain sensations...wow, that was quite alliterated!)
Show & Share - E
Today for Show & Share we focused on the letter E. Lydia brought in her elephant, and Ms. Elephant quite enjoyed being part of our class! {I appreciated how quiet she was during class time :-))
She also was a very kind and patient elephant seeing how she was treated like this during movie time! ;-)

Our Rules for Good Listening
Eyes are watching
Ears are listening
Lips are closed
Hands are folded
Feet are quiet.
{Practice, practice, practice!}
Fun in the Classroom
There is so much to do in the Kindergarten classroom! For the first couple of weeks, the kiddos will keep on discovering new games and activities "hidden" on the shelves and in cabinets. Right now the train set is one of the big hits!
